Finally, here we are! The Barcelona tests have kick-started a new Formula One season. It’s the year zero of a new technological and regulatory era, and the eyes of all fans are turning their attention to the twenty contenders more than ever.
We, as Racing Force Group, are ready to do our part in the important mission of providing safety to the drivers and guaranteeing them maximum performance and technology.
Once again, the majority of the drivers competing in the 2022 edition of the “Circus” will be using Bell HP77 helmets. HP77, the top racetrack helmet of the Bell catalogue, complies with the latest FIA regulations and features ultra-strong ballistic materials on the top of the eye port, in order to protect the driver’s head from high-speed stray debris.
The drivers with Bell helmets are Lewis Hamilton and George Russell (Mercedes); Charles Leclerc (Ferrari); Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon (Alpine); Nicholas Latifi and Alex Albon (Williams); Lando Norris (McLaren); Pierre Gasly (Alpha Tauri); Guanyu Zhou (Alfa Romeo) and Nikita Mazepin (Uralkali Haas). These helmets will feature the Driver’s Eye micro-camera by ZeroNoise, which provides the most dynamic POV images to the broadcasters.
As a consequence of a multi-year partnership, Williams will also equip their drivers with OMP racewear (suit, gloves, boots, underwear), while the cars will feature OMP Dyneema harnesses.
Moreover, our safety commitment is witnessed by our longtime partnership with FIA, which finds its highest expression in Formula 1: the crews of both safety and medical cars are totally equipped with OMP racewear and Bell helmets.
