In the first day of FIA ABB Formula E’s Season 8, Racing Force Group and its brands Bell and OMP are ready to give their contribution to the safety and performance of most of the drivers who will fight for the top electric championship.
14 of the 22 drivers will be equipped with HP77 helmets by Bell, one of the historical brands of the group. The HP77 is the top product for racetrack driving in the whole Bell catalogue. It features a narrow eyeport on top of which ultra-strong ballistic materials have been incorporated, in order to protect the driver’s head from high-speed stray debris.
As a result of a deal between Racing Force Group and Formula E, all the Bell helmets in the competition will feature Driver’s Eye technology: the images of the micro-camera by ZeroNoise installed in the helmets’ padding will be at disposal of the broadcaster, live.
The drivers who have chosen Bell HP77 are Sergio Camara, Antonio Giovinazzi, Maximilian Günther, Sébastien Buemi, Andre Lotterer, Pascal Wehrlein, Stoffel Vandoorne, Sam Bird, Lucas Di Grassi, Jean Eric Vergne, Oliver Askew, Robin Frijns, Oliver Rowland, Daniel Ticktum.
The latter three are drivers respectively from Envision Racing, Mahindra Racing and NIO 333 Formula E Team. These are the teams which are partnering with OMP Racing for the supply of the drivers’ racewear (suit, gloves, boots, underwear). The partnership with Envision and Mahindra is at its second season, while NIO 333 Formula E Team is a new addition, reflecting the fact that OMP’s presence in the top electric championship is growing. Moreover, OMP is the official supplier for the harnesses of all the chassis used in the championship.
So far, Racing Force Group’s products have won four Formula E world titles with Nelson Piquet jr (Season 1), Sébastien Buemi (Season 2), Jean Eric Vergne (Seasons 4 and 5), all of them using Bell helmets.
